About The Photographer
Kari Filipi is a nature photographer originally based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota. She relocated to the Southern Black Hills region of South Dakota in September of 2013. Kari first became interested in photography as a teenager when she started volunteering at the Minnesota Zoo. 100% self-taught, she used the venue to practice and perfect her skills.
Kari officially became a published photographer in the Spring of 2012 when Twin Cities Public Television selected one of her photographs to be included in Capture Minnesota, a book featuring the best of Minnesota photographers.
