Species: Polar Bear, Ursus maritimus | Location: Churchill Manitoba, Canada
We were out for a day on the tundra truck in Churchill Manitoba during late November 2017. The freezing season was late and the bears were piling up in the area waiting for the Hudson Bay to freeze over so they could head out for food (seals). We had 65 bear sightings in 4 days, it was a fantastic time. This mother and her cubs were trying to avoid a large male Polar Bear who was tracking them, and so they kept moving. She would pause occasionally and check where he was in relation to them. After a while the male seemed to loose interest. In the distance you can see the Hudson Bay, which normally by this time of year is freezing over.
