Cheetah-Acinonyx jubotus, Zimanga Game Reserve, South Africa
Stretching and Yawning

Species: Cheetah-Acinonyx jubotus | Location: Zimanga Game Reserve, South Africa

The ranger at Zimanga Private Game reserve in South Africa told us that it would be ok to get of the vehicle to photograph the cheetah from a low perspective. I slowly krept forward until only a few feet away from the beautiful female. Knowing that cheetahs won't just attack, and that this particular cheetah was very accustomed to people, I took a risk and set up my 2nd camera close to me with a remote shutter. She eventually started stretching and yawning after her nap and gave me an amazing opportunity to photograph her from a low angle. Luckily I had my remote shutter handy or this shot would not have been possible.
