Galapagos Giant Tortoise, Galapagos National Park, Ecuador
Nap Time

Species: Galapagos Giant Tortoise | Location: Galapagos National Park, Ecuador

One of the great examples of evolution the Galapagos Giant Tortoise has evolved to adapt to its environment over thousands of years. Almost hunted to extinction by explorers the Galapagos National Park is working on restoring their numbers. This picture was taken on the island of Floreana where the Floreana tortoises are unfortunately extinct but their closest relatives are being reintroduced. Was able to capture this guy at an opportune moment.
