2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

Flightless Cormorant, Galapagos National Park, Ecuador
Moment in Time

Species: Flightless Cormorant | Location: Galapagos National Park, Ecuador

Taken in Elizabeth Bay, off the coast of Isla Isabela in the Galapagos. Flightless cormorants are at home in the water, diving down to catch squid. Came across this amazing bird and was able to catch the moment just right as a drop of water fell from its beak. Love the contrast between the water and the bird as well as the similarity in colour of its eye and the ocean.
