2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

Species: American Eagle | Location: Stories Beach, Port Hardy, BC, Canada

I had recently gotten a new camera and took a walk to see what I could capture. Walking along the beachfront I heard the high whistling synonymous with the eagles in the area. I looked up into the snags in the marsh to my left and saw this majestic bird on the watch for a snack down on the waterfront.

About The Photographer

I do the majority of my work on the northern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, focusing mostly on landscapes and wildlife, but also dabble in long daytime exposures and astrophotography. Main areas include Holberg, Winter Harbour, Port Hardy, Port McNeil, Port Alice, and much of the wilderness surrounding these communities.
