Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, Kona Coast, Hawaii, United States of America
The Pod

Species: Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins | Location: Kona Coast, Hawaii, United States of America

As we descended during an early morning shore dive, we could hear the clicks and squeals of an incoming group of dolphins. Within moments they located our position and we found ourselves in the middle of dolphin antics. Chasing the regulator exhaust bubbles to the surface, passing leaves floating in the water column between them, swimming by making close eye contact, it was a thrill a minute. It should be noted, the circular rings that are noticeable on the dolphins in the foreground are actually healed bite marks from Cookie Cutter sharks .
