Male Sloth, Manuel Antonio NP, Costa Rica
Male Sloth on the Move

Species: Male Sloth | Location: Manuel Antonio NP, Costa Rica

We were in Costa Rica, we saw many sloths, but they never seemed to move, hence their name! Suddenly, this big male decided it was time to move, and he kindly moved to an open space in the canopy. There was quite a bit of excitement not only because they can be difficult to spot, but because they so rarely move. Actually, he moved at a decent speed.
