Species: Nile crocodile and western white-bearded wildebeest | Location: Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya

Nile crocodile was thermoregulating on bank of Mara River opposite that from which a wildebeest crossing was proceeding. Crocodile became agitated after being stepped on by a passing wildebeest and grabbed a young wildebeest in front of it. Crocodile began pulling the young wildebeest down toward the river but released it at river's edge. Photo captures wildebeest in jaws of crocodile.
