Stenella frontallis, Bahama Banks, Bahamas
Beneath the Sea

Species: Stenella frontallis | Location: Bahama Banks, Bahamas

Not many people realize what lies beneath the surface of the ocean. It's filled with life, everywhere. These two spotted dolphins are feeding, in what appears to be a barren sandy bottom, on an abundance of razor fish that reside beneath the sand. They echolocate the sand in search for these tiny fishes then use their rostrum to dig them out. They are know to sometimes play with their food and seldom approach divers after a catch to show it off.
