Cedar Waxwing, New England, United States of America
"Christmas Gift"

Species: Cedar Waxwing | Location: New England, United States of America

The day after Christmas I was getting ready to leave for work I could hear the Waxwings in the tree out front. When I went out the door I noticed one hadn't flown away. It was a freezing cold morning and it was eating the Winterberries that I had tucked in with the greens in a planter. Having a camera always in my purse I took several of this fellow. It was very early....daybreak and the light was very soft and his feathers picked up the purples from the sunrise. I considered it a "gift"......

About The Photographer

I am a hobby photographer...slightly disabled so most of my photos are taken from around the back roads in New England....not very far from my car. My back yard and garden are also prime "critter watching" areas. I have a passion for all living things and love to share my enthusiasm with the old folks I work with at a nearby Nursing Home. It is on the request of one of my residents that I enter......I have not the bells and whistles most "real" photographers work with....but I promised I'd enter. Here I am....
