Red Fox, Washington State, United States of America
Moving Day

Species: Red Fox | Location: Washington State, United States of America

After watching this Red Fox vixen hunting I saw her go back to a den and assumed she had kits although I hadn't seen any. I watched for some time and saw 3 fuzzy kits peek out briefly. When she picked up the kit up from the den I was completely in shock as I had never witnessed anything like this before with foxes. The kit was so tiny and just fuzz with blue eyes that were barely open. This moment happened quick as she just moved the kit to another part of the den.

I returned to visit this fox family a few more times, 3 weeks after I took this photo I saw that she had 6 kits not 3. Observing this family and witnessing a special moment in nature was an amazing experience.
