African Elephant, Tsavo East, Kenya
Gentle Companion

Species: African Elephant | Location: Tsavo East, Kenya

This is an orphan elephant successfully raised and released into the wild in Kenya, East Africa. The mother was poached for the ivory trade and this orphan was brought to an elephant nursery in Nairobi at a very young age. Later he was transferred to an area where he could acclimate to the wild herds around him and eventually return to the wild at his own pace.
