Leopard, Timbavati, Greater Kruger, South Africa
Lounge Leopard

Species: Leopard | Location: Timbavati, Greater Kruger, South Africa

While returning to the lodge at night, our tracker spotted something over his shoulder as we drove past a large tree. We turned around and discovered a 15-month-old leopard cub lounging in the tall grass. He was totally relaxed with us watching, which was thrilling. We only watched for a few minutes before moving on - female lions were moving into the area to hunt and we didn't want to make the cub more vulnerable than he already was.
