Lion Eating Breakfast
Species: Lion | Location: Kruger National Park, Kapama Game Reserve, South Africa
On an early morning game drive, we came across this young male lion eating a freshly killed baby giraffe while a female (out of the frame) lay patiently waiting for her turn to eat. My most vivid memory was the sound of the crunching bones. Its a bit gory...I had never experienced anything like this before. The reality of the harsh life animals face in the wild left a lasting impression with me. This image still gives me chills every time I look at it.
