Species: Sulphur Buttefly | Location: Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica
By Mary Gunther
Walking on the beach in Costa Rica I came across this small butterfly probably taking up a little salt from the sand. I liked the contrast of the yellow on the sand and the shadow.
About The Photographer
I am very fond of taking photos whenever I go anywhere - particularly of animals. I am an adjunct instructor at Salisbury University in Maryland. I am fortunate to teach a course every spring on the History of Zoological Institutions which has a field trip to the National Zoo. I also teach a course in Costa Rica on biodiversity and ecotourism during the winter term. I always have a camera in hand for these events .I describe myself as knowing just enough about photography to be dangerous but not really know what I am doing!
