Baby Silverback Gorilla Stare
Species: Silverback Gorilla | Location: Virunga NP, Congo (Democratic Republic of the)
We walked for hours through the jungle of the DRC. Our one goal was to find the mountain silverback gorilla. Our guide used his machete to keep the trail clear. We eventually heard a rustling in the bushes to our right and made our way through the dense jungle to see what had made the noise. It was a small family of silverback gorillas. The adults went about their daily activities but the young ones were curious about the new visitors. I waited patiently and tracked one of them with my lens until it looked right at me and I took the shot.
