Northern Map Turtle, Fort Donelson National Battlefield, United States of America
Baby Turtle on a Battlefield

Species: Northern Map Turtle | Location: Fort Donelson National Battlefield, United States of America

This very young Northern Map Turtle Was found while my wife and I were hiking along the Confederate earthworks in the thick forest on the southern perimeter of Fort Donelson National Battlefield in Dover Tennessee. I picked this turtle up off the trail for a quick photo (he's a bit camera shy, as you can see) then put him back down so he could resume his journey.
