2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

Common grey squirrel , Iowa, United States of America
First Shot

Species: Common grey squirrel | Location: Iowa, United States of America

This was the first capture from my new Canon T7i. This is one of three baby squirrels born in our squirrel house on our 100 acre acreage. We lost one baby due to a storm and the house falling from the tree. However the house was resurrected and the family is back together and doing well.

About The Photographer

Hello, my name is Leslie and I hail from the great state of Iowa. I have two wonderful children! I am passionate about protecting the environment and all that live within it. I am new to photography at the ripe old age of 47 and I love every minute of it. All my images here are raw, no editing. Being able to capture a moment in time that you will never get back is important to me. I want to use photography as a venue for a cause such as environmental issues or animal/insect decline it's vital to the harmony of our planet. I don't have the typical wildlife in my state that is rugged such as lions, tigers, zebras, rhinos or elephants but to me all wildlife is important and they always give back to sustainability and do so unconditionally.
