Honey Bee, Gonzales, LA, United States of America
My Work Is Pollen Up

Species: Honey Bee | Location: Gonzales, LA, United States of America

It's amazes me how often the little things that happen everyday, go unnoticed to most people. Society doesn't slow down to enjoy our natural surroundings, which are true treasures and gifts to some of us. These little bees are a joy to watch. So hard working and beautiful, and if we just let them do their own thing, they give us great rewards in return. This spring, I had the pleasure of watching several bees pollinating in the wild thistle near my home.

About The Photographer

Erin grew up in the backwoods of a small town located along the mighty Mississippi, between Baton Rouge and The Big Easy.  Since adolescence she's had a strong admiration for her ancestors and their Cajun roots.  Coming up in a family of hunters, fisherman and gatherers she spent most of her childhood doing some sort of outdoor activity.  After years of learning and following cultural values, she developed a pure love and appreciation for the natural world.  Due to this fondness and captivation of nature she felt a deep spiritual connection with the earth and began to take up photography.  As an artist she is passionate about capturing not just beauty but all diversities of wilderness and civilization.  Throughout her high school years she spent most of her time behind the camera.  From early morning boat rides to catch the sunrise, to Friday night football games, local town meetings, small town pageants, nuptials, newborns and cross country trips to partake in nature photography workshops, she has photographed many places and various subjects.  But here in the essence of the south is where she feels at home, striving to capture it's beautiful soul through her photographs.  While some consider enjoying Louisiana's customs & landscape as lagniappe (a little something extra), she views it as a true gift; that she gets to pursue these manners daily and raise her children to continue this way of life.
