King of the Serengeti
Species: Lion | Location: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, United Republic of
One of the most impressive sceneries I have witnessed, as the sun dipped below the horizon the sky lit up with so many shades of pink, even this huge male lion stopped to take it in. This was taken at Namiri Plains in the Serengeti National Park, a well known big cat part of the park. This male had just finished mating, which can go on for over 5 days. The male and female will stay side by side the entire duration of the mating.
