Yawning cheetah

Species: cheetah | Location: Maasi Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Our safari guides found a mother and three "teenage" cheetahs, which we were told were almost ready to become independent. As the mother stalked prey from behind some tall grass, one of the youngsters sat down and yawned, maybe thinking "Mother, I am hungry, get to work!" We did not see a kill but we expect she caught them one more meal and perhaps sent them out on their own on a full stomach.
