2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

river hippo, South Luangwa National Park , Zambia
RIVER KING

Species: river hippo | Location: South Luangwa National Park , Zambia

I captured this river hippo along a secluded waterway deep within Zambia's Luangwa valley. He was exhibiting his territorial might and power with an explosive display to another competitor. The action, sight, sounds and even smells, were utterly intense and turned out to be quite an experience I'll never forget.
