Species: Ghost Crab | Location: Outer Banks, United States of America
The ghost crabs were digging out their holes one morning after high tide. I was out to watch the sunrise and kept catching glimpses of the white crustaceans as they hid in their holes as I got closer. Using my telephoto lens I was able to perch myself far enough a way from a hole and capture photos of the crabs caring lumps of sand out of their holes.
