Polar Bear, Churchill Tundra, Canada
Tundra Polar Profile

Species: Polar Bear | Location: Churchill Tundra, Canada

We watched this polar bear for quite awhile on the Churchill tundra. He was an extreme distance away when we first spotted him, and he kept coming our direction. I was able to get a great series of shots during the long stroll. Being patient finally paid off as he came in close proximity to our polar rover, then stopped and seemed to look back to see how far he had traveled. That's when I was able to capture this one, using a key lesson I learned a long time ago regarding bear photography.................focus on the eyes.
