Species: Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis) | Location: Clear Creek Canyon in Clear Creek County Colorado, United States of America
I spotted a bighorn ram walking along Clear Creek Canyon so I got in a position to photograph it. He began to climb up the canyon jumping from rock ledge to rock ledge. I was fortunate enough to capture the image in mid-jump. The muscle tone reveals the strength and agility that these animals have in scaling steep canyons.

I have lived in Colorado all of my life and have always had a fascination with the outdoors. The distinctive and diverse landscape of the American West have provided the backdrop for my passion, photography. The source of my inspiration has been the vast expanse of the western landscape, its abundant wildlife and the historical heritage. Utilizing a digital camera, I like the challenge of bringing together the necessary elements of light and composition to capture the essence and character of my subject.
