Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis), Near the town of Lawson, Colorado in Clear Creek County, United States of America
Head-on Collision

Species: Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis) | Location: Near the town of Lawson, Colorado in Clear Creek County, United States of America

Two evenly paired bighorn rams were clashing at the peak of the rut. They went at it for about an hour with one getting a bloody nose. That did not deter him as they continued to battle.

About The Photographer

I have lived in Colorado all of my life and have always had a fascination with the outdoors. The distinctive and diverse landscape of the American West have provided the backdrop for my passion, photography. The source of my inspiration has been the vast expanse of the western landscape, its abundant wildlife and the historical heritage. Utilizing a digital camera, I like the challenge of bringing together the necessary elements of light and composition to capture the essence and character of my subject. Nature provides a paradox of strength and vulnerability, of harshness and delicateness. It is unforgiving and resilient. I strive to capture the subtlety and intricacy of nature in my photography. My goal is to help people connect with the natural world through my images.
