Species: Hermit Thrush | Location: Metro Vancouver Region, British Columbia, Canada
This is the third sighting that I have had of this lovely but highly elusive songbird over the past two years, and the only time I have spotted it out in the open -- this time, perfectly posed next to the reddish-orange berries of the pyracantha coccinea (Scarlet Firethorn) on the front lawn that many fall and winter songbirds find irresistible. The warm yellow you see in the background is the autumn leaves of the neighbor's weeping alder (which would all fall off in a few more days). This Hermit Thrush didn't seem the least bit fazed to be photographed. Taken from 20 feet away in late October 2016.
