Species: Panthera leo/African lion | Location: Chobe National Park, Botswana
This lioness was photographed in Botswana's Chobe National Park. She had been chewing on a wart hog carcass. Her sister joined her for a while, and then a tawny eagle swooped in and flew off with a chunk of meet. The eagle perched in a dead tree to enjoy its meal. The lionesses soon wandered off into the grass to sleep in the shade.
About The Photographer
I am a passionate amateur photographer who loves to travel the world with my cameras. I love Yellowstone National Park, Kenya and Botswana. I usually photograph wildlife and landscapes. All profits from photos sold on my website are donated to a scholarship fund to help deserving pasturalist students in Kenya who otherwise couldn't afford to attend high school.
