Three days at Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park in Alaska gave us ample opportunity to watch and photograph these magnificent animals. The bears exhibit a wide variety of fishing techniques though one of the most popular it seems is simply to stand at the brink of the falls and "wait for the salmon to jump in my mouth." It took numerous attempts, lots of patience, and of course some good luck to capture this salmon in mid air on its trajectory to an early demise.
