Kite Spider, Greater Makalali Private Nature Reserve, South Africa
Kite Spider

Species: Kite Spider | Location: Greater Makalali Private Nature Reserve, South Africa

I was on safari just west of Kruger National Park on a private Nature Reserve and we found this colorful little spider hitching a ride along on the back seat of our safari vehicle.

It gets its offical name from the texture of the shell, whereas it gets the name 'kite spider' from the fact that the shell resembles a kite.
