Mom! Why Did You Stand Up?

Species: Kodiak Brown Bear | Location: Katmai National Park, Alaska, United States of America

We were in Hallo Bay of Katmai National Park in Alaska sitting on the "beach" watching the bears chase fish, eat and play with each other. This cub was very playful with its mom and had a penchant for climbing on top of his mother when she was sleeping. This time, just as the cub was over the top of his mom, she stood up and the cub went over, landing on his front paws in a very acrobatic move. Needless to say, while we were still there, the cub did not climb on his mother any more.
