Bald Eagle Surveying His Territory

While hiking Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, the morning after a light dusting of snow, we spotted this eagle perched with the glorious background of the refuge. It was quiet, serene, and for the moment nature had the upper hand. Shortly after this picture was taken, the eagle took off and snagged a fish for breakfast.
