2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

Sitta canadensis, Gilsum, New Hampshire, United States of America
Winter feathered friend

Species: Sitta canadensis | Location: Gilsum, New Hampshire, United States of America

A Red-breasted Nuthatch composed himself nicely for this image. I captured this photo while counting birds for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count which helps researchers at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society learn more about how birds are doing in their natural environments.

About The Photographer

I'm an amateur photographer residing in New Hampshire. I bought my first DSLR about 2 years ago and I haven't stopped capturing images since. I mainly shoot birds and my grandson, but happily shoot other wildlife and landscapes when the opportunity arises.
