A Great Gray and a snowy day

This Great Gray Owl made a very rare appearance about 25 miles from my hometown this past winter. He was quite the celebrity for the 3-4 week duration that he spent in Newport, NH. Many birders and photographers alike braved frigid winter temps to view this rarity. He put on quite the show for the spectators--even landed on a woman's head and perched for a few brief seconds!
