Species: Burchell's zebra/Equus quagga | Location: Kruger National Park, South Africa
This tender scene was captured while I was on safari in South Africa. Zebras, as prey animals, usually flee when a safari vehicle stops. But this nursing mother zebra stayed still so her baby could eat. They were close enough that I could get this tight shot with my long lens at 400mm. Aside from the tender moment between mother and baby, I like the pattern of stripes on both animals. It was a special moment that I was lucky enough to witness and capture.
