Rhincodon typus, Cebu Philippines, Philippines
What Lies Below

Species: Rhincodon typus | Location: Cebu Philippines, Philippines

This is a shot of a curious whale shark investigating a small canoe in the a fishing village in the Philippines. Once heavily fished, the whale sharks have started to make a comeback in the Philippines due to eco tourism. In parts of the Philippines these animals are fed regularly, disrupting their migratory patterns and causing quite a controversy today.
