Species: Eastern Chipmunk | Location: Croom, MD, Patuxent River Park, United States
While walking a boardwalk through the marsh, I spotted this chipmunk. I stopped and just observed it. The chipmunk continued going up and down this tree and was constantly checking me out from the top and bottom of this tree, but not so much out of fear, at least that's the way it seemed. I believed it was really curious as to what I was. This went on for 5 minutes or so. That's when I decided to get some images. This is the first time a chipmunk actually did not run away from me. This was the highlight of my outing for that day. Some of the best up close images I've gotten of a chipmunk.
About The Photographer
I've been a nature boy ever since I can remember. As a kid, I was always exploring the woods, creeks and streams in the neighborhoods. It never dawned on me as a kid to photograph the things I saw and found while on my explorations. Fast forward to my adulthood when I found an interest in photography and it was a perfect combination - nature and photography. Now, I'm just a older kid (nature boy) on my explorations making images of nature and having tons of fun.
I just love being one with nature where I feel free and relaxed and can get away from the two-legged animals and all the hustle and bustle of city life.
