Osprey, Florida Everglades, United States
Osprey with a fresh catch of the day

Species: Osprey | Location: Florida Everglades, United States

I was at the Everglades and taking photos of some wading birds around a pond. It was at the end of the day for me and I was hot, tired, getting hungry and ready to pack it in for the day. But, just like other times, I could not help but wonder if I were missing something, so I drove around to the parking lot and low and behold there was a nesting pair of Ospreys in a dead tree in the parking lot. I setup up the tripod and camera in the bed of the pickup and spend another couple hours photographing and watching the Osprey family. I had the place all to myself for a long time. The male was not around when I arrived, but then came swooping in with this big catch. I watched and waited until the perfect time and snapped this shot.

About The Photographer

I've been a nature boy ever since I can remember. As a kid, I was always exploring the woods, creeks and streams in the neighborhoods. It never dawned on me as a kid to photograph the things I saw and found while on my explorations. Fast forward to my adulthood when I found an interest in photography and it was a perfect combination - nature and photography. Now, I'm just a older kid (nature boy) on my explorations making images of nature and having tons of fun.

I just love being one with nature where I feel free and relaxed and can get away from the two-legged animals and all the hustle and bustle of city life.
