2016 Wildlife Photo Contest

Bobcat, City of Boulder, USA
Urban Bobcat

Species: Bobcat | Location: City of Boulder, USA

Sometimes you don't even need to leave your own backyard to see rare wildlife. My home is just one block away from the beautiful foothills of Boulder, Colorado. I set up a wildlife camera in an attempt to document black bear activity through my yard, and instead I got this gorgeous photo of an elusive bobcat! This gorgeous animal has been regularly patrolling the area, on the prowl for a tasty meal. The matted fur on his back makes him easy to identify, and I was lucky to see him another time just one month later.
