Anhinga anhinga, Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, USA
Eye to Eye

Species: Anhinga anhinga | Location: Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, USA

As I looked out over the swamp I was surprised when an Anhinga telescoped his neck out of the water. When I saw he had caught a catfish I began taking shots. It took over 20 minutes for him to carefully maneuver the fish in his mouth to safely swallow his meal. I think I was more full than he was after watching this scene play out.
