Species: Moose | Location: Grand Teton National Park, USA
This amazing Bull Moose happened to be my first and it was such a wonderful treat to watch him in the rain. He sat exhausted in the rut season at Grand Teton National Park with two females close by. The weather was cold and the colors had changed to golds and reds and it lightly rained on us for hours as we waited for him to move. This bull was worth waiting for and his portrait is still one of my favorite moments of my first trip into the Tetons.
About The Photographer
I was blessed to come into the world of photography by accident and have loved it ever since. I grew up on a state park and had a trained eye for animals at a very early age. I just thought everyone saw what I did. I have gotten more and more into this joy of the camera world and recently I have realized I was given a gift to see and notice things that I could share through a lens. I took one professional class for a week in Yellowstone and I was hooked and that was the extent of my formal training. I jokingly call myself the accidental photographer and have slowly realized that the late hours of playing with learning how to edit and playing with gear has turned into something that may one day be more then just a pleasure. I love that each one of us can see the world at the right place and time and it will never be just that same way again. The moment we capture is just that, a moment in time and how lucky we are to do so.
