Species: White Pelicans | Location: Ruskin, Florida, USA
Once a year, the White Pelicans migrate from the mid-West to the South for the winter. Every year a good sized flock settle on the lake behind my house for their winter retreat. After photographing them multiple times, this particular morning they were gathered along the Lake's shore and as I walked towards them, they began to take off and I was able to capture the flock in various stages of flight! One of my favorite photos of these beautiful birds that choose to visit my background annually.
About The Photographer

After 40+ years in construction as a project manager, I retired and devoted myself full-time to my passion of photography. I began my company, Scattered Pics Photography, after spending two years of just enjoying retirement and honing my photography skills. While I professionally concentrate on Commercial Photography, my heart and soul is in Nature Photography.
