Species: Deer | Location: Grand Teton National Park, United States
Early morning--Grand Teton National Park. We had already seen bison, pronghorn, elk, and a family of bears on the way to/during this hike by the time we encountered this deer. This was perhaps the most casual wildlife experience I have ever had. The deer, which we almost literally ran into on the trail, was confident in its domain. We were on her turf--she knew it and made sure we knew it. She did have a comforting and welcoming vibe by simply continuing to eat as we watched it from the trail.
