Species: Snowy Egret and Minnow | Location: Barnegat Bay wetlands, New Jersey, USA
This photo was taken in the wetlands of Barnegat Bay, New Jersey through the reeds. I was able to capture this Snowy Egret in breeding plumage just about to eat a minnow. The eye contact of the egret and fish are what drew me to this image and what in the primal brain of the fish may have been going on.
About The Photographer
I've always loved what photography enables me to do. As a teenager I enjoyed film photography. With work and family commitments I left the hobby fallow for too many years. A few years ago I discovered digital photography and the vast opportunities it presents. Always interested in wildlife and the natural world I only started seriously traveling recently. Last year my wife an I took a Natural Habitat trip to The Galapagos and were inspired. A couple of the images submitted are from that trip and one from my home on Barnegat Bay New Jersey. Nearing retirement I look forward to continue to capture beautiful moments.
