Species: Ruby-throated hummingbird | Location: Fontenelle Forest, Nebraska, United States
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a flicker of movement. Waiting and watching for a moment, the small blur reappeared and was gone again in a matter of seconds. Waiting patiently for several minutes, I was rewarded with a split second of the female ruby-throated hummingbird standing still, perched just inches away from my camera before once again disappearing like a figment of my imagination.
