Marbled Godwit, Torrey Pines State Beach/ Park/ Preserve; La Jolla CA, USA
The Dance

Species: Marbled Godwit | Location: Torrey Pines State Beach/ Park/ Preserve; La Jolla CA, USA

Torrey Pines Preserve and State Beach is a magical spot between the lovely coastal towns of Del Mar and La Jolla, north of San Diego. The cliffs are majestic along that stretch of beach and the entire area has been a long time favorite of mine and it, at least at certain times of the year, appeals to migrating shorebirds such as these Marbled Godwits as well. On a mid-day outing, I watched this pair of Godwits for a time and was fascinated by their interaction, which took on the appearance of a dance of sorts.

photography is my passion. listening is my meditation. the two merge as i wait and watch for what will be revealed to me in the moment...

i fell in love with the captured image through the lens of my father. i connect with him at the heart through my own lens these days.

nature is my canvas. i seek beauty. my wish is to paint the emotion- through a vantage point that is unique- so that others may witness and experience it as well.
