Grizzly Cooling off

Species: Grizzly Bear | Location: Kemano River Valley North coast British Columbia , Canada

It was 30'C and this Bore Grizzly was using this little pond to cool off. I watched him for about 20 minuets as he walked around in circles and lounged in the water. The light was from late in the day from behind me to the left. I took the photo from a low angle to get the alder branches in the frame in order to help frame the bear. Allan

About The Photographer

Cropped dsc 0304 new tone cutout 1

My name is Allan Colton and my photos are inspired by the immense diversity of the flora and fauna in Northwest British Columbia. Since my childhood in Ocean Falls, I have explored a myriad of landscapes and have sighted the variety of wildlife found in this beautiful area. During this time spent exploring and living on the West Coast, I developed a passion for capturing both the unique expressions displayed by wildlife and the transitory moments of light and colour in photography.

I am also an avid outdoors man who enjoys hiking, boating, diving, and fishing and therefore find many other opportunities to record my sightings with a camera..
