Sea Urchin, Kings Range Conservation Area, Lost Coast Trail, United States
Sea Urchin

Species: Sea Urchin | Location: Kings Range Conservation Area, Lost Coast Trail, United States

Photo of a washed up Sea Urchin taken while thru-hiking The Lost Coast Trail in the Kings Range Conservation Area of northern California. The Lost Coast is a secluded 25 mile stretch of pristine coastline. While reasonably short, thru-hiking can be difficult as much of the trail is along the beach over sand and pebble. Well worth the hike though, as your reward is views of coastal cliffs, elephant seal and sea lion herds, abandoned lighthouses and some coastal history.
