Species: Wildebeest | Location: Just outside Etosha National Park, Namibia
Last fall on a trip to Namibia, we visited Etosha National Park, in the northern part of the country. The place where we stayed just outside of the Park had an underground blind that allowed us to get close to the animals who visited the watering hole. One afternoon, I spent time in the blind watching the wildebeests and other animals march by. Although I remained very quiet and still, sometimes it appeared like they were staring directly at me through the bars of the blind. As the afternoon sun sunk lower in the sky, the highlights on the animals became more intense. This, coupled with the almost white snow like sand on the ground and the dark color of the wildebeest, created an unusual image to try to capture.
